So, I've used it twice - cold water for the darks, lukewarm for the light colors, with a double rinse. I air-dry the stuff that might be damaged in the dryer (e.g. bras, swimsuits, some sweaters, etc.), and dry the rest at the lowest heat setting in the dryer. It worked fine, and neither my husband nor I are having any itching or other issues (our skin always does get better in the spring and summer, when the humidity in our area is higher). So, I can't comment how well this would do on wool or 100% silk, but it worked fine with our "everyday" laundry - and with the 64 oz. size I will not need to search for more for a LOOONG time :) ! Review: Re-stretch sweaters! Clean designer scarves - I bought this because I wanted to clean a $$$$ Burberry scarf without ruining it. It did the job wonderfully, and the fragrance is amazing. I also used it to wash wool blend sweaters that had shrunken when washed in a machine on delicate/cold. After soaking the sweater for 30 minutes, rinse once (never wringing) then I laid it on a white towel, rolled it up to remove the moisture, and re-stretched the sweater to its original size Then I let it dry. For the Burberry scarf, I soaked it in cold, water, mixed with a cap full of the linen wash for about 20 minutes. Then I drained the sink and rinse the scarf FIVE times with cool water. This makes sure your scarf stays soft and subtle to the touch. Without ever ringing it, just swish it around in the clear, cool water then I laid it on a clean towel and carefully rolled it up and pressed (never wring)Just press the moisture out. Then I hung the scarf to dry on the drying rack. Perfect! The cap is quite small. 1/4 cup if using a washing machine. **Q: which one is fragrance free product, of all Le Blanc?** A: I am not sure as I only own this particular one. The smell is not terrible though. **Q: What is the difference in this and the linen wash?** A: I'm not sure what the difference would be between the products, but there is a fairly substantial difference between linen and silk as a fabric. I don't think Amazon will allow me to include a link to a search that includes the difference so briefly: Linen is comprised of longer, wider tubular fibers. Silk of very thin, long strands, very close together. It only matters in that the way to clean linen and silk would vary because of those differences. Silk should need a much lower acid level in its silk wash. Anyway, I have this product for washing silks and have been pleased with it. Just saying, the difference should be in how the fibers are cleaned and the agents used to clean them. **Q: Has anyone experienced a high level of pilling when washing cashmere and wool with the silk and lingerie wash? I’m noticing scary amount of shedding.** A: I haven’t washed wool or cashmere in it, only silk and synthetic fabrics by Eileen Fisher in it, both by hand and in the washing machine, but have noticed no pilling or shedding. Are you using the gentle cycle in your washer? I have even washed cashmere and wool in my wash machine with a regular detergent on a gentle cycle without noticing pilling, never had any shedding on any clothing. You must be doing something else different. This linen wash has also removed spots and stains perfectly. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ the scent does go away *by S***Y on April 16, 2024* I ordered this to wash my silk pillowcases. When I got the detergent I was a bit put off from the smell- not my taste I prefer unscented. I decided to try anyways because my pillowcases really needed washed. I soaked them in a little basin and agitated it with my hands every so often. after the 20 min. I rinsed them off and hung them to dry. I wasn't too happy with the outcome and the appearance of my now "clean" laundry. not to mention it smelled rather strong still of the detergent. The second time I washed them I decided to try a little different approach. I did as stated above, rinsed, then I repeated the soak/washing. Once the washing part was done, I refilled the container with clean water and swished the pillow cases around and changed out the water 3 times. After that I did a final rinse under the faucet and hung them to dry.
