How do you measure liquids on a weight scale?** A: Referring to dtopp's answer - the question is asking how a weighing scale can measure in fl oz, which is a very good question. Fluid Ounce is a measure of volume, not weight. 1 fl oz of different liquids, say water vs oil, will weigh a different amount. So without the scale knowing exactly what liquid you are measuring, this is a completely useless "feature". I can only assume the scale always assumes you are measuring water and also assumes US fl oz (rather than British fl oz, which is slightly different), in which case 1 fl oz = 1.04 oz wt. **Q: Could the buttons be prone to getting crumbs and coffee inside them or are they sealed off?** A: Hi, Chris. I now have the ESCALI Primo Digital Scale ( Lifetime warranty, too) that uses AA batteries in July 2020. I thought I would not be as happy but turned out that I love this better than the Zenith. Smaller. Got the same batteries in there since I got it and AA batteries are much cheaper than the CR2032. The old one still works but has no backlight and times out too quickly. This scale solved both those problems, it has a very bright and easy to read display and a longer time out (2 minutes vs 1 minute). The only negative aspect is that is has less usable area that is should for its footprint. For some reason it angles down for about an inch at the front and the back. I noticed the slope in the pictures and thought maybe at the front it was to angle the display for easier viewing but the display is pretty horizontal so I guess it is just a silly aesthetic choice.
