My wife bought this knife on Amazon a few years ago (in a set with a 3" paring knife). I also have a Global 7" Asian chef knife. I love all of these Global knife, but found myself reaching for this knife 90% of the time. I have a medium-size hand and this knife is just perfect for any kind of kitchen prep work at home. I use the chef knife only for something big like a prime roast or a big turkey. For almost everything else from cutting meat to slicing veggie, I prefer this knife. It's quite a surprise that this knife doesn't have as many reviews as other Global knives. I suppose most ppl would go for the 7-inch Santoku, which I have tried out at my friend house and found it's slightly too big for typical cooking prep work at home.By the way, I find Global knife super sharp right out of the box, but they will go dull over time just like any other brand. The thing I love about these knives is the fact that they can be sharpen up again with a wet stone or good sharpening rod in no time.For $60, I don't think you can go wrong with this knife.
