Not so sharp that a wrong move leaves you with a feather sharp cut, but sharp enough that if you try to lift it mid stroke you can feel it pull on the half cut hair! Yes it's sharp, but safe sharp, and definitely wins against a derby if you know what i mean. If you're on the fence for DE shaving, I have course hair, and my old mach 3 could barely last 3 shaves and always got gummed up with hair, but this easily does 4-5 shaves per blade, and for less than $13 for 100 of them? What works for me might not work for you because your beard (or your legs) might be different, your skin might be different, your shaving style might be different, your shave cream, soap, or water might be different, or you might just be feelin' ornery. If you're familiar with the big-name blades, you might be thinking, "What's this ASCO stuff?".I'm very fond of these blades. They're produced under the Lord brand umbrella, and they have some of the admirable qualities one associates with Lord blades. They're from Egypt, which is a place where some very nice blades are made. Like Lords, they're quite sharp, but not TOO sharp, and this can be a good thing. Unlike some of the very sharp blades (say, Feather or Astra), you don't have to approach your face as if you are Michelangelo tackling the Sistine Chapel. You can simply have at it, and end up with a very good, smooth shave. They're very comfortable blades to shave with. All in all, ASCO is a good brand to try, once you get over your "I want to split atoms" phase of blade investigation.The blades come in yer basic unprepossessing fold-out display, containing 20 5-packs. Clearly printed blades and packaging that are obviously legit manufacturer's stuff (after all, who would clone ASCOs?). The 5-packs are not individually wrapped in plastic, so if you live in a deadly, corrosive, humid atmosphere, such as one might find on Venus or in Oregon, you might want to keep 'em bagged. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ nice blades *by N***T on Reviewed in the United States on 7 June 2014* Switched to double edge blades from disposable. I tried several brands and settled on the ascos, got 100 blades for about $15 compared to a bag of 25 disposables for about $40 at costco.
