Review: Best sprayer I have used. You get what you pay for - I had bought my first Makita 5 years ago. I had used it for a year and then it sat for 3 years. I brought it back out to use it again and it fired right back up no problem. I continue to use it all year. GPS connected I typically by the steel sr450 or sr200. My guys complain that the Makita is to heavy. What I love about this machine most is its dependability. As long as you change the oil, it's good to go. Never had any problems with this machine except for regular maintenance such as replacing the shoulder straps and solution lines. Also what I love about this machine is the weight distribution of the solution tank. Instead of it being completely at the top like all other machines it is spread out throughout the entire back. For the Stihl Sr 200 I get maybe a year, year and a half out of it. Out of the sr450 same thing. The Makita has outlived all of them and continues to run strong. It's not much heavier than the sr450 oh, but it is heavier. I like it, it's good on the legs. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. The other problem that I had with this is the gasket that goes on the lid for the solution tank comes off. I have had the lid replaced once which came with a new seal and it still falls out here and there. Whenever filling up the tank I just visually check it and if it needs to be pushed back in it takes only a couple seconds. If you don't do this then you will be wearing whatever you put in that tank as it will run down your back. This is standard with any backpack misting machine.
Review: Professional - I use this professionally for mosquito management. My favorite things are, choke on, 2 pulls. Choke off starts after 1 pull. Once warmed up it always starts on the 1st pull. Also, having used several backpack misters, what makes this one the best is the tank. Instead of it being over your shoulder, the tank fills from the bottom up at your lower back. The center of gravity is low so it's very easy to carry and its very well balanced. Edit 4/9/25 I've used the mister for 3 seasons for mosquitos services and it's been a rock solid and reliable machine. The only bad thing, the strap just doesn't hold up. I had to use duct tape wrapped around the strap because it started fraying and falling apart. Other than that, it absolutely destroyed the stihl misters in every way.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: So are these for sure made in China? Can't seem to find too much info on this.**
A: Not sure. It is awesome as a mister and really good as a blower (if you remove the diffuser, it twists right off). Very easy to start.

**Q: Does this mister have directional attachments like the Solo 452?**
A: No, your arm provides spray direction.

**Q: where can I purchase Nozzle Set (196499-6)**
A: Contact customer support at https://www.makitatools.com

**Q: Purchased product in july 2020. worked great the first time. second time there was a tank leak at the exit plug. does the plug need to be taped ?**
A: Mine isn't taped, every once in a while I drain the tank and hose it down then close it with no issues. Make sure it's on properly and if it still leaks then yeah I would tape it.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Awesome machine.
*by L***N on June 29, 2017*

Awesome. We have used this for about a month and have eliminated mosquitoes and spiders. from around the house. Produces consistent mist volume. Cranks on first pull. Several families went in together and purchased this and all have said the same thing. We are spraying every two weeks right now and have reduced the chemical now to 50% concentration. It is very heavy on the back but it is a commercial machine purpose built . it is a 35 lb machine with the fuel and chemical and it ways around 65 lbs. straps are significant and the tank keeps the center of gravity lower than most machines. So far we are all very happy with it. It will blow the mist up 35-50 feet into the trees.
