You can try to use the pot lid to frying pan if necessary. **Q: Is this made set made entirely with #304 stainless steel?** A: As far as I can tell it is…except for the silicone bowls. You may want to contact the manufacturer for the best answer. 304 is just the grade that “most” stainless steel for cookwear is made from but I can’t say specifically as there is no definitive answer in the description. **Q: Can this be used on open fire for cooking** A: We used it over a propane stove and burnt the bottom of the pan...so it can't handle extreme heat. It didn't blow my mind and was challenging due to our particular heat source which burned the very center of the pan. Poor heat distribution and the fact that the lid doesn't latch onto the pan was the biggest complaint. The silverware was sturdy but the clips to hold them together weren't. They regularly flipped closed on us.
