You’re best off using a selection of metal pipes and wooden planks for scaffolding. **Q: what is the diameter of the striking head?** A: The head is a waffle head, it's not square in shape, so is 36mm in one direction and 33mm in the other, so more of a rectangle with rounded corners. I have had mine for a couple of years. It is slightly heavier than most framing hammers, but once you are used to the weight it's a great hammer. Feels good, very little if any vibration down the handle aswell. **Q: Would this be ideal for roofing or is it too big ? Really like this but not sure if I should go with this or an estwing claw hammer** A: It’s not too big, I use if for fencing. Plastic head is well made, if you take it off then there is a rough head which will mark things.
