They have double zippers to prevent spilling but I put the sand in without taking it out of the bag it came in. I do have an issue with the description. This is a single unit not two. I understood that when I purchased per the remarks and reading the description a couple of times and I purchased 2. Other than that, I cannot complain about anything as far as their construction.
