Arrived quickly, look like plain black mugs. I poured hot coffee into one to test it and it took a while (maybe a minute) but it changed from plain black to the image you see on the AD here. There are images on 2 sides of my mugs. Pretty darned cool. Have not washed them yet but I will pay attention to the reviews that say they are NOT dishwasher safe.One week update: We ran into a slight problem. Similar to Pokemon scent dropping to attract pokemon, these cups appear to attract zombies. I had to use a shotgun to clean up the crowd of zombies that gathered on the front porch yesterday.
