While the amps you mention are within the welders specs, my personal experience is that stingers like this do not do well with a 12 gauge extension, even though the gauge in your wall is 12. The problem comes down to length of cord, as the longer the cord, the more resistance, which creates more heat to the point of popping the breaker. **Q: Can mice chew into this cord?
