Review: Unadbridged and ALL the Fairy Tales!!! - Boy did I get my monies worth buying this book! I am halfway through this Kindle book and totally enjoying all of the tales. I just go from one on to the next when reading. If you want to read them all like I do, then I think this is the best way to do it. I have heard that many ebooks that one can not find how to get back to where they were from the index. To tell you the truth I have not even wanted to look to see if I could. So many of the stories have similar names I would think it hard to keep track of what you have or had not read. You could keep records by not only chapter titles but see what unit you are at from your ebook. My Fire always opens up where I left off and I also try to keep track just of what percentage of the book I have read in case I should lose my place. Most stories or chapters are from one minute long to at most 15 minutes long to read. They are very short. Grimm's Fairy Tales as they were written were not written for little childen's stories that we would tell today. If reading to children is what you want then you want to look for the Disney versions. These are some pretty weird and odd tales. I am very happy I purchased this Kindle book! Review: Everything Old is New Again - This compilation actually lists the title of each story adaptation, and there have been quite a few! There is also extensive information about available audio recordings. The Publisher's Note asks for information about technical errors, outdated links and/or textual inaccuracies. Quite refreshing. The stories? What can I say about the stories? Rapunzel, Hansel and Gretel, Cinderella, The Bremen Town Musicians; if you don't know the names by now you're in for a treat. The writing style is flowing, filled with charm. Each story has a moral: some subtle, some blatant, all relevant, even today. This is not the volume if you're looking to pass a few hours: these are short stories; the type that fit into those moments while the tea is brewing or the bacon is frying. Enjoy them. Savor them. Share them. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Best Sellers Rank | #42,967 in Books ( See Top 100 in Books ) #19 in Fairy Tales, Folk Tales, Legends & Mythology Literary Criticism #90 in Mythology (Books) #171 in Fantasy Anthologies | | Customer Reviews | 4.4 out of 5 stars 9,603 Reviews | ## Images ![Complete Grimm's Fairy Tales, The (Complete Grimms' Fairy Tales; Fingerprint! Everyone is familiar with some aspect of the Grim Fairly Tales, but how many of us have actually read any of the original stories. I fan a fairytales for as long as I can remember, I decided it was time for me to right a great wrong I had committed against myself. I had never read any of the Grim stories until recently and I was shocked, amazed, weirded out, and a little disappointed. Don't get me wrong, I loved these stories, they were awesome, but they were not what I think of as fairytales. I have been so brainwashed by mainstream modern thinking that I almost wouldn't allow myself to enjoy these stories for what they truly are, brilliant. I think the main two reasons I didn't give this book a five is: 1. that I would never actually read these to any child under the age of 10. If a nine year happened to pick these up and love them, good for them, but I'm not planting crazy dreams into the minds of any kids anytime soon...oh and fables these are not; not many good lessons to be learned here. 2. Some of the stories seemed to overlap or repeat. I know that in this day and age, everyone borrows ideas from everyone else, but I figured back then, these guys should have been able to come up with a collection of stories that didn't all sound the same...but of course I'm exaggerating. Most of the stores were quite original, but the little bit of repetition there was, drove me crazy. I must give the brothers Grim and whoever influenced them, some French guy I can think of, a clap of praise for inspiring and influencing storytellers for centuries beyond their time. I might, just for fun, one day write my own versions of these wonderful stories. I mean, they are now permanently stained onto my brain, I might as well do something with them...Truthfully, I'd recommend this to anyone ten or over. ## Frequently Bought Together - The Complete Grimm's Fairy Tales (Complete Grimms' Fairy Tales; Fingerprint!
