I live in a very windy area so it consistently produces decent output. I’m running 1 kw of solar as well so the wind gen pulls to help charge the batteries when it’s cloudy a few days in a row. This was the second one I’ve purchased. I ran the last one hard for three years and the output was really dropping. I replaced it with the same one so I’d have spare parts onhand. One small complaint was the sticker placed on the leeward side of the blade. It’s the annoying paper sticker that is impossible to remove and junks up the look of the product. It leaves sticker scar and does affect airflow over the blade. Near batteries or turbine** A: LOCATE CONTROLLER AS CLOSE TO THE BATTERIES AS POSSIBLE **Q: can a stop switch be installed on this turbine?** A: it has a built in brake/ if the wind gets too fast and too much current is generated the Controller sends the charge back to the unit and causes it to function like a magnetic brake. You can either design a 12 volt system or a 24 volt system. I'm using 4 6-volt batteries wired in series for a 24 volt system. It powers a 24 volt to 120 volt inverter. However I do not enjoy that the spec. Sheet given with the turbine as well as the sticker on the housing is listed as a 12/24v product but the turbine itself only produces 12v. Its possibly still useful to me but not for the purpose that I bought it.
