I didn't use the diode and resistor or the upgraded RGB LED light as I read the original Sega ones are high quality and I wanted to keep the original light of the Dreamcast. The kit fixed the issue and another Dreamcast has been saved. It's been a few weeks since I fixed the issue and everything works perfect. I wanted to upgrade my dreamcast controller board since it was getting so annoying updating the time everyday due to dead battery. This kit gave me everything I needed to update my controller board. This was my first time soldering and I watched a “how to” video and just installed the kit along with the video. The led is bright and I love how it is multicolor rgb. A good option if you only need to do a couple DC's *by T***D on April 20, 2021* This is a well assembled kit of medium-high quality components and is a great option for someone who is upgrading their Dreamcast. If you are upgrading more than 2 Dreamcast systems then save yourself a lot of money and build your own kit on Newark or Mouser instead.
