This will allow you to check the power and ground to the relay while leaving it plugged in, this way you can check the voltage in a completed circuit. Example would be power wires with relay unplugged will show 12v, same wire with the relay plugged in could be 5v because of resistance on the wire, or ground wire can read 0ohms like there is nothing wrong but if you plug the relay back in there could be voltage on it indicating a bad ground.
