They are normal weight for checkers, they stack for the kings, perfectly fitting the top one's extended smaller circular base into the deeper lower one's circular top level; they come in a fabric drawstring bag to keep them together, they fit the 2" squares on the board, they are well made and sturdy, and they are a quality wood and paint or dye job. No bad smell. Only pros, no cons! Beware: the bad reviews must be coming from other checker sets that didn't tell who the seller was, not these. Be sure to look for We Games for 2" ones. When I received my order, one piece was split and two pieces were chipped, so I requested replacements for those three pieces. Wood Expressions (WE) responded the same day and kept me informed about the replacements, which I received five days after original receipt. Final product looks great on the checkers/chess table made by my grandfather. WE customer service was outstanding.
