Review: Great Tuning Power Supply option, Audi, VW, Porsche. - If you are installing a tune on your vehicle, this is a great option as it offers the 12v 20A power supply feature most tuners recommend when doing tune installation. I also like that the settings are quite easy to use and you have multiple amp options when charging. Doesn't have a "start" feature, which for me is perfectly fine since I have other options for that. Used on my 2020 Audit Q3 when installing a APR stage 3 IS38 turbo tune which takes a bit longer than a Stage 1 or 2 tune. Would also work great for VW given they share the same engine, etc platforms as the Audi's. Just verify the recommendations on power for the specific tune you are installing.
Review: Dependable charger. Great for maintaining battery state during programming on domestic vehicles. - Been using one about 4 years in a dealership. Holds batteries around 12-14V during module programming, had it on EV 12V systems for hours without an issue even with batteries below 70% state of charge. It's not a high-end charge that'll put out 50A, but it does the job at 20A. It worked great until I dropped it and it stopped working, " note this was probably the 68724582 time I dropped it" lol. So that was completely my fault. So, I bought two more, one for home and one for work. So if you're looking for something that can maintain battery health at 20A, this charger is worth it.

**Q: Has anyone experienced %charged staying at 95 percent... Then if I unplug and re-plug it in then it shows 100 percent?  Just odd timing or an issue?**
A: The reason it shows that the battery is 100% charged, is because the voltage of the battery hasn't dropped down to its "resting" voltage. It still has a "float" charge which WILL decrease and be completely gone in about 3hrs. So when you unplug the charger and plug it back in, the charger thinks you're trying to charge a battery that is already fully charged because it has +13.0 volts (float voltage). Lead acid batteries are 100% charged at +12.6 volts (resting voltage), AGM batteries are 100% charged at +12.8 volts (resting voltage).Basically if you unplug the battery while it's still charging, you have to wait for the battery to get back down to its resting voltage for the charger to know the exact condition of the battery which takes about +2-3hrs. If it's your car battery you can just turn your lights on for 15-20 minutes without the engine running and stick it back on the charger. You'll see it start back at the actual % charge of the battery. Hope this helped.

**Q: what does it mean when "charging in progress" is blinking and "charging complete" is off?**
A: Suggest you read the simple manual that comes with the product.  But the scenario you describe means it is charging your battery. When the "Charging complete" light illuminates, the battery is charged.

**Q: Possibly really dumb question, but I found this item through a solar powered battery charger review site. IS this solar powered?**
A: It is not solar powered, but it is a great battery charger.

**Q: What's the difference between the California compliant charger and the non-compliant charger? What does the one do different then the other?**
A: California compliant units make a sound when charging is complete. This is to provide more efficient energy usage by the charger (less time plugged into 110 outlet)

Great tool. I bought this charger more for the power supply function for extended diagnostic sessions with the engine off and for light programming, even though it's not recommended for programming. Works great for maintaining the voltage up when using my scan tool with the engine off. I haven't used it for programming yet but many say it's perfectly capable of keeping up for most lite programming that doesn't require high current draws. What really impressed me was the battery charging and maintainer functions. It's fully automatic and once the battery is charged, it goes into a maintenance mode. Simple. The voltage and battery selection is easy. You can select between charge% and voltage on the readout. If the battery drops under 1V, the charger won't start charging as a safety measure but you can force a charge by pressing and holding the start button. If your battery is that depleted, it's probably better to charge on a 2amp trickle charge. There are clear status indicators that tell you when the unit is charging and when the battery is fully charged. You can select very easily between the modes power supply/charge voltage modes, amperages, and battery types. It will charge std lead acid, agm, and LiFe batteries. It will tell you if the charger detects an error or if the polarity connection is reversed via the indicator lamps. This is a smart charger and takes different strategies when charging, varying the voltage and amperage accordingly. For example, I started a charge on a dead lead acid battery. Voltage was just under 2V. The charger started charging pulsing on and off until the battery reached a certain voltage to ensure there were no issues before it went into a constant charge. There is a cooling fan that turns on/off on demand. This is a very well thought out, quality tool. Brilliant piece of equipment. Very happy with it👍
