I've had it for a month - month & half and my only problems were the 8 hour(Empire) & 24 hour(Napoleon) DLC download times, you don't get all DLCs (could be the rest came out after game) and the fact that I have to use STEAM to play (total BS). STEAM is a useless middleman between you and the game. It rarely works, and is really aimed at the on-line multiplayer crowd. Why game developers like Creative Assembly have adopted it, I cannot say. But it is a requirement, and it is the only way. **Q: Will it work with Windows 8.1 ?** A: Yes With a Steam Account,It Should If its a New Copy of the game. **Q: I did not see a manual in the box, and now I don't have a validation code that the game is requiring before I can play. Can I get a manual?** A: There is no manual. These days, game manufacturers cut as many corners as they can (not like the '90s, gaming's golden era); instead there are various tutorials. Anyway, to your question - the validation code is on a small strip of paper glued to the inside of the box. It's really hard to miss. **Q: Can i play this game with windows 8.1?** A: I have no idea. We were never able to get steam loaded which means we were never able to play the game! I'd give it 5 stars *by K***R on September 4, 2014* A total nightmare to install. Does not work well with Windows 8. The game itself is good. I'd give it 5 stars. That said however, if you have access to a fast internet connection and aren't running Windows 8, you'll probably be happy with this. Otherwise, be prepared for a quirky install from the disk. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. When it does, be prepared to wait for a couple of hours while it loads upgrades. Be prepared to see everything you've spent this time on vanish for no apparent reason. Be prepared for system crashes on a regular basis.
