I just sanded the ceramic a bit and then applied the adhesive. Next I laid it down and closed the lid for 24 hours. After 24 hours, I did a 400 degree burn and then let it cool. This is get rid of some of the toxic smells so it doesn't get in your food. I finally did a 500 degree cook 48 hours after the installation and there is no more smoke leaks! This is cheap and a quick fix!
