I was concerned about the lack of power to run transcoding, but have had little difficulty with Plex transcoding although typically I only have one transcoding happening at a time. I use Kodi for local playing of media so Plex is secondary for me. I have one file that stutters. A 20+ GB file of Avatar which will stutter if bandwidth is higher than 720p. I would not recommend this unit if your primary focus is Plex with multiple streams. Virtualisation station works very well. One unexpected result of using the NAS instead of the Mini is that sound is much improved. I am not an audiophile so not sure why that would be. I am using the audio out from the NAS to amplifier, thus using the built in soundcard which gives best clarity.
