## Description

LONG FLINTS FOR MAGNESIUM FIRESTARTER. The flints in this listing were made in Austria by a company that has been making flints for over a 100 years. This man made flint will sometimes throw sparks 6 or 8 feet. Ferrocerium rods 3/16 inch x 2 5/8 inch. Flints only. No magnesium included. You do not really need magnesium. I have used cotton balls with vaseline on them and they did very well. I believe they did better than the magnesium. The cotton balls lit easily, and they burned much longer.

These throw good sparks but I'd prefer a larger diameter ferro rod I/2 inch in diameter and longer. These feel a bit skimpy and weak. I'm afraid to break them in my hands.
