They will only attach to a door up to 1 and a 1/2 inch thick. I called Cardinal Gates to see if they had larger clips, but they don't. FYI - They don't carry this door anymore, nor do they make any patio door gate. Too bad, I was excited to see this gate as it seems its the only one on the market that was made to fit a patio door. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well - easy to use. *by T***Y on May 12, 2013* Just open the sliding glass door, place gate in and tighten door against the gate. A plate with screw is included to place on the track behind the door to keep the gate in place. Since I need to remove the gate at night I use a small block of wood which wedges in out of reach of my 18 month old.
