My knowledge with induction is somewhat limited (I use a vintage gas stove), but my understanding is that the surface of the bottom of the pot needs to have enough contact with the cooktop, which it would but for a fairly decent engraving of "18/10 stainless". I thought though (and I'm probably wrong but I did look it up on wikipedia and it advised so), that the pot also needs to be somewhat receptive to magnetism which it is not (I tested a magnet on the bottom of the pan).
