Review: Is It Possible To Love A Mop?... YES!... And Don't Feel Strange! Because You Will Love This One...! ;-) - I have a lot of mops, but I always seem to be in search of a better mop -- because the ones I have just don't totally do the trick. I had a Shark steamer. It turned out to be a big, expensive disappointment because (ok ok maybe it was my fault!), I used regular water in it and not distilled water and the vents became completely clogged and no steam would go to the mop head! Even after soaking 2 days in vinegar and cleaning to open the vents, nothing worked so I tossed that sucker which cost me over $100! I also have a Swiffer that I use with wet disposable clothes. I've noticed it works well for very light things and small areas, but you can't really get super down and dirty with it and you can't do a large space because the wet mop cloth dries by the time you get to the other side of the room! And I have the sponge mops that dry (or try to dry), when you pull a lever and the mop head squeezes through a wringer. But Costco, where I used to buy them, doesn't sell the mop heads anymore and even when I find them they are $15+ or so for a head that doesn't last very long. And I have some of those messy dirty string mops which I sure as heck don't want to wring out and touch. SO... recently and especially after my Shark went bust, I've been looking for a new mop. I have a lot of concrete and smooth floors, and they get dusty and dirty very very quickly. Even if I vacuumed them with my Dyson (which would always populate with dust bunnies I didn't even know were there), I know nothing gets them quite as clean as a good wet mop that early picks up remaining dirt, hair, dust etc.....! I checked a dozen spinning mops on desertcart. My head was... spinning afterwards! I couldn't decide which one to get. They all say they're the best. I initially liked the mops and buckets with foot pedals, then read all these reviews saying the foot pedal breaks, or makes the bucket prone to leaks. Then I was going to buy one from O'Cedar because I knew they had a big big range of cleaning products so I thought they must know what they're doing. But to be honest, the color of the mop and bucket was so ugly (an unflattering black and dark red combo) I couldn't bring myself to do it. My utility closet is already a slightly dreary space - full of brooms, cleaning supplies, my hoard of mops, etc. The last thing I wanted to do was toss in another anonymous and nondescript black cleaning device which would just get lost in the mix. (And if I can't find it... I can't use it!) I forget exactly how I found the Mopnado -- maybe I searched "pretty spinning mops" or "mops that should be in MOCA" -- but somehow I found it and whew boy I'm glad I did! This mop, I initially thought, was not cheap at $50 or so. It was half the price of my defunct Shark steamer. But more than any mop I've ever bought in Costco! (Though they added up to that with the sponge head refill / replacements.) And to be honest, other than the description, I was not sure was this built any better than the other spinning mops on desertcart where people had complained of cheap plastic or leaking buckets. But the design intrigued me, because 1) this was the *only* system that spun the mop IN the water to remove dirt, then OUT of the water like most of the other brands to dry it, 2) this one had a bucket that *very cleverly folded* in half to save space and make moving it about easier, and 3) THIS ONE WAS VERY NICELY DESIGNED AND HAD BEAUTIFUL BRIGHT COLORS! You may think point #3 is a superficial one but actually it's not. To me, design is actually one of the most important aspects of a product and a good indicator regarding the quality of the product.. If you like Dysons for example, it's because they have an aesthetic appeal -- good design, sleek details, good colors. If you like Apple products -- it's because of the same. Or Porsche! Good efficient design and nice aesthetics are signals that someone really thought about every aspect of the product here! So there's some good likelihood that the product is well made and quality too. Anyways I order the mop. It takes about a week to come. When I open the box, I'm immediately impressed with the lightweight but clearly strong metal (stainless steel?!) mop handle. I like that I don't even have to read the instructions (or maybe that's just a guy thing), to figure out how to put things together -- just another sign to me, that the whole product is intelligently thought out and designed. I flip the bright, pretty bucket open and closed. Open and closed. See that wow this is really a smart and sleek design! And actually I did have to clean my floors right then since I was mopless for over a week! So I threw some water and vinegar in the bucket -- when researching this, I remember the product description or something said vinegar is an inexpensive, effective and organic way to clean, which I thought was a great idea -- and I get to mopping away! I can tell you that this mop is almost idiot proof! It's so simple to use. The only user detail to remember is you have to slightly unscrew the bottom lever on the handle, to free the mop head to spin in the water or the dryer bucket. But other than that it's entirely intuitive. And I was immediately interested in and slightly entertained even, by cleaning. Because this mop was so novel and really really quite efficient, I almost didn't mind cleaning, and I kept wanting to test it on another floor or under another couch to see wow how much dirt can I get. On the surface, things looked generally clean to me but I was really amazed and impressed at the 'unseen' dirt the mop was picking up. My crystal clear water was quickly turning black even though my floors looked clean -- but obviously weren't. If I can make a confession... sure why can't I?... from the first second, I really enjoyed using the mop. Using it is EASY. It is, seriously, EFFICIENT. The mop and bucket itself have an odd appeal because they are actually quite PRETTY. And using the mop is almost FUN if cleaning can be fun! And I love that there is a wet spin / cleaning feature for the Mopnado which other competing mops do not have -- this a MAJOR PLUS to me and one of the primary reasons I chose the Mopnado. After having this now about a month and using it twice a week I can certainly tell you this mop has absolutely picked up significantly more dirt and is easier and more flexible to use than any mop I've had so far - Swiffer, Shark steamer, traditional string mops or sponge mops. This mop, like Buzz Lightyear, is eons ahead! What I now happily and luckily know is, this is a great product. And even though I thought $50 was steep at first, now that I have it I know it's absolutely not. The mop is worth that and much more. Sturdy, smart, effective, efficient... it is just a very intelligent way to clean. So if you can love a mop, believe me you'll love this one. And if you think you *can't* love a mop, well believe me if you try this you'll see you are wrong!!! The Mopnado is simply great. Better than anything I've seen or used, and definitely the mop of your dreams. It is most definitely the mop to top! Highly highly recommended. ;-)
Review: Well built - updated review, see second paragraph - Well I finally got to use the Mopnado and it works very well. I only have a couple of small gripes. The mop head has locking detents to keep it at specific angles. Unfortunately the angles aren't good for floor cleaning. I disabled this locking feature and the mop works perfectly. Secondly, to spin water from the mop you have to turn and release a fitting on the handle. If your hands are wet or slippery you might have trouble turning the fitting. A quick release of some sort would have been better. Otherwise I think you'll find that this is a quality piece that will last a long time. There aren't any flimsy plastic parts to break. It also really spins the water from the head. Finally, the directions are good once you've figured out how to use the Mopnado, but a short instructional DVD would have been better. I'm editing this review because I've used the mopnado a few times and now I'm not feeling so generous. The problem with the locking and unlocking to spin and then use the mop has gotten very irritating. Tighten the lock enough to keep the handle from collapsing and it will be too tight to loosen for spinning. The most irritating thing is that the mop head rolls over and the plastic support scratches at the floor. The head should be mounted with a ball joint so it can rotate in all directions. I suggest you find a cheaper alternative.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Its a great mop. Its also the first mop I've had ...
*by C***E on September 24, 2014*

Its a great mop. Its also the first mop I've had that I haven't hated or felt was just wildly ineffective. More in depth: the Mopnado is light, really easy to use, and cleans things quickly and thoroughly. The folding bucket makes it incredibly compact and easy to find a place for. The spinning agitator and dryer are effective, but also downright fun. Things to bear in mind: As with any new gadget, it takes a little bit of practice to use effectively. If you place the mop on the agitator and it won't spin, odds are you've gotten one of the microfiber tassels stuck in the agitator. Don't force it, just lift it up a little, twirl slightly, let it fall. Just a little bit of practice and you'll never have the trouble again. If you find that the plastic mop head is tilting back or forward when you're using it and hitting the floor, adjust how you're applying pressure to the mop - the key is to keep firm pressure centered on the mop. This requires using two hands. Play with it a little till you figure it out, and soon you'll forget it was ever a problem. For future Iterations: the bucket is really a clever design, and it allows for a lot of functionality in a compact form. But it isn't perfect. The handle of the bucket is designed with two positions - one to balance the weight while empty and closed, and one to balance it while full and open. This if a great idea, and they are indeed well positioned. However, the notches that separate one position from the other are shallow, and if you're not careful they can slip back and forth between the two without you noticing. If your bucket is full of water at the time, this causes problems. With luck, future versions of the product with have more defined grooves. Really though this is a minor complaint to an overall excellent product.
