Do you have to turn on the oven first ? And let the chemicals evaporate ?** A: I never needed to use this product inside the oven, only for the metal grades on the stovetop. I might imagine turning the oven on with the doors closed for 5 minutes, then opening the door with very good ventilation for 10 minutes before cooking anything. I've recently found an Easy-Off degreaser that has worked well without any harsh chemical vapor. **Q: Can this be used on cast iron grates on my stovetop?** A: It's a very very string grease remover. Not sure if it will take the finish off the grates.
