Review: Awesome product, at FIRST, then major Failure, after fantastic customer service, Lifetime customer - Updated 5/15/25. I was able to speak with Brad at Speedekote, he took time to investigate the issues I was having and made everything right. I am telling you that having a company that will support its customers and help them get the results they want is rare today. My advice is just to make sure that you use the correct cleaning and prep agents, as not all degreasers are the same and have different properties. I couldn't ask for a better rep to deal with, and I look forward to how the truck turns out. Thank you, Brad and Speedekote, for the assistance. Highly Recommend. I bought 2 gallons of this to spray as an initial step on my frame-off restoration. I used stripping wheels to remove factory paint and primer down to bare metal. Once done, I cleaned with a commercial degreaser and let it dry. I then mixed the primer, 8 oz of primer to 2 oz of hardener, and used 28 psi on my gun to apply. Primer applied wonderfully, had great coverage and laid down flat and uniform. That's where the praise has to end thus far. Once I had all the panels primed and ready for the next step, I blew off the dirt with my air hose, still set to the 28 psi for the spray gun. I had a few places I needed to add body filler and sand down, knowing that I would need to respray these areas. My shock came from when I blew off the body filler dust anywhere there was a lip from the primer, you could see the air lift and bubble up the primer. At 28 PSI, I was able to "sweep" across the panel and blow primer off in areas. At first, I thought it was something with just the one panel, but as my work progressed, I found this to be the case on the majority of my panels. Now, keep in mind these had plenty of time to cure as they sat for 2 weeks after curing before I could start this step. The problem continues as I found the speedekote website and attempted to reach out to the company. I left multiple messages and even completed a contact form for them to reach out to me, but still, for 2 weeks, I haven't heard anything. Again, initially I thought it was something that I messed up on when prepping the panels and applying the product; however, after further research, I have found that this isn't the case. I have spent +$200 to prime my restoration, only to now start back where I began. With no response from customer service or the company, I guess I should have just burned the cash instead. I would love to speak with someone from the company to understand what may have caused this to occur. The finish on the primer seems extremely strong and dries very well, but it shouldn't be able to be blown off bare metal with 28 psi, if I hadn't discovered this I could have applied so much time, effort, and funds into the custom paint job just to have it come off on my first drive, due to the initial bond of the primer failing. I would love to work with the company to resolve and to fix this problem before I start to completely re-strip and reapply the base step, not to mention the amount of funds wasted on this.
Review: After one year, it’s still a good product - This is a great product. When I had a larger to cover, I would shoot it and cut it with 10% acetone and it goes on great. For small jobs, I roll it on and obviously it doesn’t come out as good but by the time I get my compressor ready find a filter siphon get the spray just right hang the project, I’m done rolling it. If you’re gonna roll, it roll it in One Direction. Chances are you gonna send it anyway so I just save a lot of time rolling it small jobs. I just did a small job and it’s been sitting around for a year. I’m still it’s as good as new. One caveat on the top description it says two to one I don’t know What this means but it’s a 4 to 1 mix. They should knock off a star, but it’s such a darn good product.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Do I need to take it down to metal or can I spray over existing primer?**
A: As long as it’s 2K urethane paint then yes, make sure it is clean.

**Q: How long does it take to dry to the touch at @75F?**
A: 15 minutes depending on how heavy you apply it

**Q: Can i spray Basecoat right ontop of this, or do i need a high build on top of this. And as reducer can i use a standard medium urethane reduce?**
A: I have used several gallons of this product and had good luck with it. Can't speak from experience about basecoat directly over the top but I know of several people who use epoxy primer in general as a final sealer coat before the base color coat with no problems. I don't find it necessary to do that. As for me, I use this product direct to metal, then regular urethane 2 part primer and spray the color over the urethane primer. I use fast or medium reducer depending on temp to thin it out enough to get a good spray pattern so yes, reducer works ok for me.

**Q: Does this product contain isocyanates?**
A: Epoxy does NOT contain any isocyanates.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Epoxy Sealer. Use what you open.
*by M***R on November 13, 2025*

Seems to flow well, gasses off great, dries fast and smooth enough. 2 coats, Followed up with high build, wet sanded to 600-Paint laid down nice, 4 coats of clear (310 reducer) looks like a diamond & ive not rubbed or buffed! Its got zero shelf life though. So dont buy extra thinking you might need it.
