Review: Great just a little on the thin side - Shame it doesn't have any tone adjustment. The unit is easy to use, and the remote is perfect for us lazy people. The sound is very clear on CD although the radio is a bit hit and miss, but I think that the problem for that is the house. I would have like to be able to reduce the treble and bring up the base a bit. But overall a great little unit for price and fits in the corner out of the way perfectly.

A: Hi, this stereo cannot be powered via batteries at all. Sorry. Mains power is always required for playing the stereo.

**Q: Do the AA backup batteries need to be the rechargeable type?**
A: Hi, any double AA batteries are fine for the memory retention - rechargeable or not. Batteries will not power the stereo, only ensure that it keeps saved radio stations and clock / alarm setting sin case mains power is removed.

A: This is a mains 220/240 UK device, fitted with a three pin plug. THAT part operates, whether the rest of this device does is open to question!
