Product Feature: Drain auger is a More Effective and Economical, Faster and Safer solution to snake your drain. Instruction: 1.Rotate the thumbscrew counterclockwise to loosen it. 2.Extend and insert the snake into the drain by hand until you fell resistance. 3.Rotate the thumbscrew clockwise to tighten it. 4.Turn the knob clockwise start to clean. If meet hard clog, turn the knob counterclockwise several circle, then keep turn clockwise again, repeat 1-4 steps until you feel you've worked through the clog.(Note: while repeat step2, extend the snake more further into your drain pipe causing a clean action) 5.Loosen the thumbscrew, retract the snake into the drum by hand. The cable might have a large hair clog attached when pulled out of the drain, wipe it as needed. NOTES: 1.Some sinks you may need to remove the drain hole cover or undo the p-trap if there is a drain strainer stopper that could not be detachable. 2.This drain auger is not specially designed to unclog a toilet blockage. Do not use it on the toilet, it may scratch the delicate porcelain of bowl. 3.The cable is not anchored to the auger drum and does not let it out all of the ways in case of falling it into the pipe or drain. Ordered this handy little auger and for $30 was able to remove a clog in about 5 minutes that a plumber would have charged $300 minimum for in our area. Bonus is if it happens again, the fix will be 5 minutes of my time vs having to call the plumber again for another $300 visit. Is this a professional grade auger? Absolutely not. Does it have its faults and foibles? Sure, but for $30 all I care about is the fact that it got the job done. That makes it 5 stars for the price in my opinion.

**Q: Every time I flush my toilet, water backups in shower will this work if I use it in shower to take out blockage?**
A: It worked for me!  I am a single mom and no training other than google.  My toilet would bubble when taking a shower and water would back up in shower.  Overnight and got it done!  A friend told me that you can take a plastic bottle that fits in toilet and cut the end off of bottle.  The mouth of bottle wide enough for auger to fit through.   This will protect toilet from getting scratched if you can not get the clog through the shower.

**Q: How do I get a replacement cable? Mine is bent.**
A: I would think any tool rental company would have something to fit. They repair tools that they rent out so if they don't have they probably know who would.

**Q: Has anyone used this on a clogged kitchen sink?**
A: I have and it works great.
