Or there is not much call for that gauge wire, they can not be all things to all people. For that, strip the wires, place some shrink tubing on one of the wires, solder, let it cool, slide the shrink tube over, shrink it. Some times, when there is sufficient wire length, I place two different size shrink tube,. shrinking the smaller one first, letting it cool. The slide the larger one over the other. **Q: No i mean to connect two wires together. that will be going into my fuel tank. i see guys do it but i’m not too sure. so i’m seeking help** A: It depends on how close to the tank the splice is. NEVER use an open flame heat source because of the possibility gasoline vapors. If it is close to the tank you would be better off using a crimp style connector and for better insurance against weather and ect. cover the connection with RTV to seal it against the weather. **Q: Will these work for RC cars. For the battery , motor and electronic speed control** A: i do not see why they would not so long as you have the right size for the wire diameter and enough room to heat them without effecting other parts of the RC car. **Q: is the soldered area exposed or covered by the thermal plastic?** A: Solder area is closed also. It wouldnt do any good at all if it was exposed to water and rust. More specifically it wouldnt last a month around saltwater if it wasnt covered correctly. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely awesome and easy to use *by C***B on January 13, 2025* These connectors are amazing, as long as you use a heat gun(not a lighter) to shrink them down and melt the solder. I’ve used them for car stereo installs as well as wiring in underglow and interior footwell lights. They hold great and really keep the wires protected from water seeping in and shorting electronics out. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ They work good, advertising is kind of deceptive *by D***N on March 25, 2024* So I’ve been curious about these for a while and finally decided to try them out. My ten year old butane soldering iron finally gave up the ghost so I figured I’d give these a shot before buying a new one. I was super skeptical from all the advertising but I was surprised how well they work. I’m a truck driver and I own my own truck and trailers, all older equipment so I fix a lot of wiring.If you’ve seen the advertisements for these they make it look like you can just slide them on, hit them with a cigarette lighter and be done. They do not work like that at all, however when used properly they work great. You need a good heat gun and you need to hold it on the solder section until you see the solder shrink/flow into the wires. Also the clear heat shrink from what I’ve read seems not to be UV protected so you should run some normal solid color heat shrink over these, I did intentionally leave one exposed on my trailer and I’m curious to see how it does. All that said they seem to create a very strong joint (once they’ve cools down, made that mistake pulling on them while still hot) 100 times better than crimp connectors and it will take time to know if they last just as long as soldered wires but I feel like they will.Will they save you time, maybe if your not well practiced at soldering wires, but honestly I could probably solder two wires in good working conditions just as fast as connecting them with these. Where I think these are going to be the best thing in my tool kit is when I’m in Wyoming, it’s negative 10, dark and windy and all I need to grab is these, some heat shrink, wire strippers and my cordless heat gun. That situation without these I’d probably use a crimp connector as a temp fix and go back later and fix it properly, as far as ease of use these are probably easier than crimp connectors and they’re a solid permanent fix. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Use lower heat when using this product *by E***B on April 18, 2025* Overall this product worked well. The solder material didn’t melt as fast as othr brands I have used which caused the heatshrink material to melt faster and burn quicker than the solder leaving the finished product dark and difficult to determine how well the solder penetrated the wire connection.
