The 3/8" plastic thread on the videomics is a bit flimsy, IMO, so I was concerned that frequent attaching and detaching of my mic to this adapter might end up with the mic cold shoe or threads getting damaged. I got a Rode PG1 cold shoe handgrip and attached that (with it's metal 3/8" thread in the bottom) to this adapter on my boom pole, and now both my camera and boom pole have shoe mounts that I can attach the mic to, making it much easer to move the mic between mountings. I also end up with a good handgrip so I have 3 ways to mount my mic depending on the situation. **Q: I think this would work but i wanted to be sure.
