Not tested for heat yet. Wipes down and is waterproof. No smell or strong vapours. Used on another upcycled painted chest of drawers left a slight tint on the painted surface which I didn't mind ..varnish tested on white card was clear... On white matt emulsion paint it dried very slightly tinted brown can only assume a reaction with paint. Please note best to order a 500ml as it's twice the price and better value than that of the 100ml bottle!! That option wasn't clearly visible in my opinion.
