It usually covers in two coats, but this depends on the porosity of the wood and whether you are trying to cover up a dark colour wood, with a lighter colour, or if you are trying to disguise a previous paint or stain. Many Thanks **Q: The silver birch looks like a brown colour on here. Is that correct or is it grey?** A: I used the brown colour and was worried as it came across on the photo as really red but it was fine when I got it. the pictures do not show the true colour I have found. The product is good though, stopped slipping in the rain. Just make sure you mix it well before using. Dont know how long it will last but so far so good. **Q: Can you apply over oiled deck** A: Yes Just clean as you would to reoil /stain etc **Q: Is this product suitable for a natural cedar deck which has been clear oil treated previously (not painted)?** A: The product would require a reasonable level of porosity, so it the timber has been oil treated it would be advisable to sand the surface back to create a key and ensure the top coating is removed. After thoroughly cleaning the decking and allowing 2 days to dry out I applied the anti slip deck coat and I have not been disappointed. The decking has been transformed and the fine sand/grit in the coating ensures the anti slip description is for real.
