It crushes the garlic into very small pieces and is very easy to clean. The only drawback is that it takes a bit of pressure to crush the garlic effectively and my wife finds that a problem. It is sturdy and looks like it will last a long time. The silicone tube is effective at removing the outer skin from garlic cloves but I have not yet had to use the small cleaning brush. I suspect that the brush will soon get lost in a drawer with a lot of other kitchen stuff accumulated over the years.
