This would rank higher and be 'the' carafe of choice if they'd put some type of insulation between inner and outer shells. Makes hollow clangy sound when cleaning or moving around, not a big deal but lets you know there's no insulation. Stopper swings back far enough for filling with your liquid and seems to seal reasonably well. Keeps liquid 'fresh hot' for a few hours but not for any extended time period like you'd hope. Overall nice, but could definitely be a real winner with insulation. ### ⭐⭐ It really is great at that *by 3***I on Reviewed in the United States on August 29, 2015* We were initially extremely impressed by the ability of this carafe to keep beverages hot. It really is great at that. Unfortunately, there are some issues with the top assembly which is plastic plated with chrome. The top fits well and is airtight, but the plating flakes off around the spout. That leads to floating pieces of plating in your cup which is less than appetizing. I've scraped and scrubbed the plastic opening to remove the plating and after a couple of passes, now it's OK. Still, makes us wonder whether I got it all every time we pour. Seems to be a material and manufacturing process problem.
