After 3 weeks I began hearing a little bit of static, only when the power was plugged in. After another 2-3 weeks, I began hearing a very loud blast of static sound. I would have to disconnect the cables and wait a few seconds, then reconnect. The sound would go away for a few hours then come back. I still use the device and it still works well. It emits a high pitched ringing sound whenever it's plugged in, even when no phone is connected. The volume level is extremely low and the sound quality isn't very good. My single function adapter is way better, and even bluetooth sounded better than this.
