Last year the bulb blew and I replaced it with an LED bulb. It is recommended that one also replace the light housing gasket. I think the bulb I replaced was the original and so probably was the gasket. I wasn't sure I'd find one to fit such an old light. This one fit fine. It almost seemed a little too small, but I don't think it really was. I believe a snug fit is appropriate. I did struggle a little to install it. After installing, I submerged the housing which remained dry inside. I did this over a month ago and it has remained dry to date. The fact that it comes with an extra screw is a plus too. By the way, the screw also has a little rubber retainer to hold the screw in place when putting the fixture back in the pool. That little rubber retainer is a huge helper when working under water so the bolt does not fall out of the fixture as you go and remount the fixture back in the pool. It's nice to have an extra gasket on hand too, just in case you need to change another bulb in the near future.
