I was intimidated at first and reluctant to use them. For some unknown reason, they looked somewhat ominous. When I finally shook them realizing there was liquid inside, the apprehension eased & I took the plunge. I'm really glad I did. I've used them room temp, cool & warm on various back areas (below scapula feels really good), bottoms of feet (spiked ball probably wouldn't be good for neuropathy, but my feet love the cool), at occipital attachment spots, and along ITB. I've experimented using both the solid and spiked massage ball on the same areas. They both work equally well although each works in a different manner. I'd use them on an area for only a short time. Then by the time I got them heated or cooled and used them again on the same area, I was really surprised at how much that area had already released, or at how much the pain level had decreased. I've not experienced discomfort the next day either. As I plan summer travels, they will definitely be going with me. The carry pouch makes transport easy. Knowing I've got instant relief available for travel weary tight and sore muscles brings me joy. I'm finding lots more use for these great massage balls than I ever thought. I ordered these to see if they would help, and boy do they! You have the smooth ball for just a regular deep massage, and then a spiked ball that feels like a deep tissue massage. My back felt so good while he tried both of the balls on it, and little does he know, he will be using them every night for me! Lol. They also come with a nice bag to store them in which is great so you don't lose them!
