These J Frame S&W grips are no exception. I bought these to replace the factory rubber grips that came on my S&W 442 revolver. The craftsmanship and quality in these grips is second to none. They fit the 442 perfectly and feel very good in my large hands. Although appearances are secondary to function, these grips do look very nice. One crucial aspect of these grips is that they are cut properly so that I can use my HKS speedloaders. The factory rubber grips had too much material in the wrong place and would not allow their use.
