Review: Noisy AND So Much Fun! - We got this from desertcart for a song during the Chistmas season on one of their big sale days. It was worth two times what we paid for it!! It has been a huge hit with both our children - a boy, aged 18 months (for whom it was bought) and a girl, nearly 3 years old. The triangle is hands-down the favorite instrument. We have had multiple "concerts" since then (of course, the grandparents think that's adorable). To those who are offended by noisy toys - don't buy this set. They are instruments intended for toddlers and preschoolers. Of COURSE they are going to be noisy. Cymbals, tambourine, triangle, maracas, clacker - YES, it's makes for a lot of noise. But that's the whole point!! Also, for those demanding high-quality instruments that produce concert hall sound, don't buy this set. Again, I reiterate that this set is intended for the very young and musically interested. It is great fun. And it is perfect as a starter set. I see my children using it for some time. We have a plastic set of similar instruments from last Christmas that will now be retired as this has taken its place. My only gripe is that the string for the triangle slips off very easily and can be lost. That, of course, adversely affects how the instrument can be played as well as its sound. But otherwise, A+ in our household on all levels.

**Q: why is the girl in the picture using it to mix raviolis? have i been using musical instruments wrong my whole life?**
A: Haha! That is a good question! I never noticed the picture when I bought ours. I suppose it shows the versatililty of the instruments and the creativity of the child! But really, keep using the instruments the way they were meant to be used. My grandson LOVES these. It's one of his favorite toys. And he's never used it to mix ravioli!  :)

**Q: Could someone tell me how big the maracas are?**
A: They are a little smaller than a standard band set.  Really well made group of instruments.

**Q: Is this safe for kids who would chew on it? The metal and paint parts?**
A: This set is more for ages 4 and up.  I wouldn't let a child chew on it as it is made of metal & wood. The paint &/or wood could come off if it were chewed on. It's a great set for older little ones though!

**Q: What is the hollow instrument and how do you play it? The one with a handle, the ridges, and the slit that is paired with the stick.**
A: A child can tap stick to hollow instrument, being hollow makes different sounds tapped in different spots.  Rub stick up and down ridges similar to playing a wash board.  Ideal for two small hands. My grandson and great nephews still go straight for this music box when they are together.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One of those toys that never gets old

I've got a 15-month old who just loves music and is always clapping her hands. The minute we opened this toy, she immediately took to the cymbals. My wife turned the sturdy box they came in upside down so that she could beat on the box if she wanted. My daughter had a better idea... she'd climb up on top of it like her little stage and crash her cymbals like some major domo, marching in step at that! We all love playing with these very durable toys. This and things to draw with are the best toys, because kids don't seem to burn out with them the way they do with one-trick pony toys. Anyway, I'm very pleased with this and the great value it represents for the price. I'll be giving this as a gift to my friends' kids. You can never have the perfect toy, but as long as they've come so close with this, I might as well ask Melissa and Doug if they would verify for us parents that the paint used in these does not contain lead -- they are from China and the bright yellows and reds are the ones that more often contain lead. The only other thing is to know whether the wood was sustainably harvested and did not come from clearcutting trees (in Borneo or something and sent to China for processing).
