However the overall score for me is discounted when weighing in the company's lacking of a widely supported product guarantee.When purchasing from Amazon if the sell is done through an Amazon partner your warrantee is not valid. Manfrotto's product guarantee removes itself from any responsibility in repair work. In my case the tripod O-rings began to fail after 5 months. Rather than shipping me a few cheap rubber rings they wanted me to ship my tripod to them and pay for the shipping and repair. Feels slimy and I feel the company is not committed to its product.If you are not worried about this then consider my review of the ballhead itself a 5 star review. I know to some this could seem somewhat petty but a 300+ dollar tripod is a big investment to not get any kind of warrantee on. Either have a warranty and standby your product or don't and set those expectations up front. Don't put fine print to weasel out. It just makes the brand look bad.[Update] Amazon is a wonderful company and have corrected this issue for me. The best feature is the friction adjustment. The reason this product did not get 5* was because the first one arrived with an obvious factory defect that should never have left Gitzo. I own several Gitzo tripods & heads and this is the first one that had an obvious factory defect.
