It attaches easily to the bass drum shell with Velcro and includes a smaller pad for versatile damping on various drum sizes. Engineered for optimal performance with close drum microphones, this nylon pad reduces overtones without sacrificing tone, making it a must-have for drummers seeking precise sound control and studio-quality results. ## Description Product Description The EQ Pad is an adjustable bass drum muffler that enables control over attack and sustain. A hinged damping pad bounces off the head upon impact, allowing some minimal resonance before returning to full damp the head. From the Manufacturer Evans EQ pad is a highly efficient bass drum muffler that attaches to the bottom of the bass drum shell with Velcro. The hinged pad bounces off the head, allowing sustain, before returning to damp the vibrating head. A smaller pad on the opposite end can be used on smaller drums or for minimal damping.Evans damping accessories include products for bass drum, e-Rings and min-EMAD. All products offer damping to reduce overtones without sacrificing tone. For over 40 years, Evans has been a pioneer of drum head manufacturing and design. Known for innovative designs such as EMAD, EC2S, and the Hydraulic series, Evans drum heads are made in the USA in a state of the art manufacturing facility. Acquired in 1996 by D’Addario and Company, the global leader in musical instrument accessories, the Evans brand is synonymous with quality and consistency. Review: More Punch and drive with less 'boominess'... Clean look with clear heads, too! - This pad works great for me. I have a Pearl Masters 22"x18" kick with Evans Emad heads; EmadII batter and Emad Clear reso... I also have a Kickport installed in the front head. The slight amount of "give" as the pad hinges forward after being propelled away from the head lasts just long enough to give the sound of my kick drum a satisfying amount of "body", and actually increases the punchy sound at the same time. I've never had ANYONE come to my home studio and not comment on how good this setup sounds. I'm totally happy with this product, and would only caution that you cannot adjust the pad with the front head on! I was lucky enough to be giving some drum lessons and the student's arm fit through the Kickport, so he adjusted the pad!!! Truth be told it was almost perfect anyway, as I'd used the following method: simply put a solid object of some kind (large cardboard box, piece of plywood, etc) in front of your kick drum with the front head off while adjusting the EQ Pad. Listen to the reflected sound as you change how much the pad is contacting the drum head. If you use a front head as I do, just remember the resulting sound will be fuller and more resonant with the front head installed; just less 'boomy'... That's it! Highly recommended as a very neat, clean effective method for damping your kick-drum resonance to your liking. Review: The only muffling I use - For years i used to only play wide open and this is even better. Just the right amount of muffling to tame overtones or basketball bouncing sound, and add more bass. Has zero weight to it. I use just one in 14" or 16" depth kick drums, just laid in there, no velcro and it works just fine. So glad i got over the stigma of having nothing inside the kick. ## Features - DAMPENS SOUND - Hinged pad bounces off the head, allowing sustain before returning to dampen the vibrating head - ATTACHES TO BASS DRUM SHELL - Attaches to bass drum shell with Velcro - LARGE OR SMALL DRUMS - Smaller pad on opposite end that can be used on smaller drums or for minimal damping - DRUM MICS - Works well with close drum microphones - EVANS DRUM ACCESSORIES - All Evans accessories are designed, engineered and manufactured to the most stringent quality controls in the industry ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Best Sellers Rank | #2,790 in Musical Instruments ( See Top 100 in Musical Instruments ) #1 in Marching Percussion Accessories | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 2,135 Reviews | ## Images ![Evans EQ Pad Bass Drum Dampeners - Bass Drum Sound Dampening - Attaches to Drum Shell - Adjustable, Hinged - Controls Attack & Sustain - Great for Close Drum Mics - 1 Multi-Use Pad - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71Z3LjYqvpL.jpg) ![Evans EQ Pad Bass Drum Dampeners - Bass Drum Sound Dampening - Attaches to Drum Shell - Adjustable, Hinged - Controls Attack & Sustain - Great for Close Drum Mics - 1 Multi-Use Pad - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81+swA7hzgL.jpg) ![Evans EQ Pad Bass Drum Dampeners - Bass Drum Sound Dampening - Attaches to Drum Shell - Adjustable, Hinged - Controls Attack & Sustain - Great for Close Drum Mics - 1 Multi-Use Pad - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/31hY-z2NdSL.jpg) ![Evans EQ Pad Bass Drum Dampeners - Bass Drum Sound Dampening - Attaches to Drum Shell - Adjustable, Hinged - Controls Attack & Sustain - Great for Close Drum Mics - 1 Multi-Use Pad - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71kQWrCT7ZL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Style** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ More Punch and drive with less 'boominess'...
