With the glass ones A. I was always afraid of breaking it when I washed it and B. Hated that my second cup got cold and I had to microwave it when I was ready to drink it.I bought this one after I did break my glass one washing it. I was hoping the metal carafe would keep my second cup warm and WOW, DOES IT!I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this french press! I am never going back to the glass carafe again!Side note-- when I bought this I wondered if the push screen on the inside would stay flush with the pot as I pushed down-- because it flares out toward the bottom of the pot. I HATE getting mouthfuls of grounds in my cup. If you're wondering too-- The answer is YES! The inside is completely cylindrical and does not flare. It makes a tight seal with the screen all the way down so no mouthful of grounds, yay! Apparently, the insulation is thicker the further down the pot you go which is why it looks wider on the bottom from the outside. And the seal is obviously broken somewhere because I can hear liquid swishing around in there. I've pinpointed where the water is getting in. And now I've realized, when I pour my coffee, that liquid stuck inside the press is dripping out into my coffee.
