The hardest part was cleaning and de-greasing the chain and drivetrain. Once that was done the hot wax portion was easy. I bought a cheap 2 QT crock pot, put the wax in and set the chain on top. It did take 4 hours or so to fully melt the wax but it needs to be on low. I suspect a larger crock pot may melt faster, but it's easy enough to set it up in the morning and let it slow cook away. After "breaking" the chain and putting it back on the bike it was pretty stiff, but after a few minutes riding it was fine. I used an old paintbrush to wipe the little wax particles off the bike and went for a 16 mile ride. It's amazing... no creaking or noise at all and smooth shifts. Sure all of this can be accomplished with any lube, but being able to brush off the chain and drivetrain and wipe my hand down it with ZERO grease is what I signed up for.
