This SDAR unit is my least favorite of all. First of all, I need to measure temperatures in the 1100 degree F range. This SDAR thermometer advertises that it can read up to 1202F, but it only has three digits to the left of the decimal, and a much smaller digit to the right of the decimal for displaying tenths. So measuring above 999.9F looks sort of odd because the display drops the decimal and the fourth digit is much smaller. I have measured up to 1045F with this meter.The worst function of this SDAR unit is that it does not remember the C or F setting - the default setting is C - and it switches off after 7 seconds. So every single time I take a temperature reading, I have to switch the unit to F. Every. Single. Time. (The other units I have do not do this). Also, it does not remember if you have the laser switched on or off.
