This is rough on me since I have been involved with art in some way for all of my life. So I wanted a soft clay. This was recommended to me. I can already recommend it to you! It is soft and yet it is strong beyond belief! I was able to push it around immediately, without even warming it up from the cold porch step. :-) I cannot do that with Monster Clay, for example – which I love by the way, and I am not giving up my Monster Clay! But this stuff is good for the "sketching" of these sculptures. I can tell that already. If you are an artist and are considering this clay, you owe it to yourself to get some and play with it! You will love it. I do not doubt it. And it is good for learning! I could go on all day but I said I wanted a short review. So here you have it. Will i have to use a release agent?** A: Clayette is softer in comparison to most other non sulfur based clays and easy to work with. It will capture good detail similar to wed clay, and can be used with a plaster negative. No release agent is required because it is oil based but many artists prefer to still use a mold release such as ease release 200 when working in silicone or universal mold release when working with resin. If your sculpt requires very fine details I would suggest using a harder clay such as Chavant NSP medium or hard but if you prefer a softer clay, this would work just fine. **Q: Can I warm it a little bit in a pot pourri pot to make it softer to work with?** A: Wow - no idea. I never tried that. **Q: can you just leave the clay out and will it dry evencholly** A: Does not dry out, oil based clay for sculpting. If you want it to dry out and solidify, you want a water based clay. **Q: Is this a soft or medium firmness?** A: Its a medium firmness. I love working with this clay.
