ZPower is now Riot Energy which is also true. However, ZPower went out of business because, the batteries were unreliable and would last about one or two months. Hearing Aide Companies stopped using these batteries for this reason. Check it out! Hearing Aide companies are now creating their own proprietary batteries and chargers that will not accept ZPower batteries. My audiologist said that it is best to use nonchargeable batteries instead of ZPower batteries that cost $70 and last only a month or two. By the way Riot Energy has not, and will not correct the unreliability problem with the ZPower batteries. This is why Hearing Aide Companies have created their own systems. **Q: Why should a little hearing aid battery cost more than a freaking car battery?** A: With all respect what type are you buying the 312 batteries I use are $20 for 80. Maybe there are other alternatives **Q: What is the average life of the batteries?** A: The batteries are designed to last 1 year under normal operating conditions, at which point the battery capacity will decrease to approximately 80-85% from stated. The batteries can continue to be used after 1 year, but capacity will be decreased. Normal operating conditions includes charging the batteries as needed using a ZPower charger, ensuring that batteries are not left in hearing aids that are not being used for an extended period of time (more than a few days), and keeping batteries away from metal objects while not in the hearing aid.
