I bought the Tidal Tank because I wanted something different from traditional weights that I could incorporate into both my own workouts and my athlete training programs. What immediately stood out was the shifting water resistance. Instead of simply moving a fixed weight, I have to control the water as it moves, which makes even familiar exercises feel completely different. The resistance can also be adjusted by changing the amount of water, giving me a lot of flexibility for different exercises and ability levels. It has added another dimension to my workouts by challenging core stability, balance, coordination, functional strength, and stabilizer muscles at the same time. I especially like the potential for athletic training because athletes have to react and maintain control when the resistance shifts unexpectedly. That makes it useful for movements such as squats, presses, carries, lunges, rotational exercises, and total-body conditioning. I have also been impressed with the overall quality. It feels like a solid, well-designed piece of training equipment, and I like that one piece of equipment can provide so many different training options. The Classic uses PVC construction, has multiple handles, can hold up to 49 pounds of water, and is designed to be emptied for easier transport. For Chamberlain Fitness & Nutrition, the biggest benefit is versatility. I can use it for strength, stability, core, conditioning, and athletic-performance exercises while giving clients something they probably don't experience with traditional gym equipment.
