The lamp itself turns on and off from my phone really well when paired to wifi and xiaomi app. Can be set up also with google home app,but mostly turn it on through the xiaomi app but lamp is exactly described and looks like pictures and extremely happy with this app. The lamp itself does stretch out really long so if you have a small desk like me,it will definitely cover whole desk. Lamp does turn different color tones as well from white to a more tan/brown natural color which is cool. App has a whole lot of different ways to set up lamp from scenes to different times to set up when to shut off. Even has a 40 mins of working time and when it shuts off for 10 mins to take a break from studying or working which is really cool.
