So many people profited, or attempted to profit, off of her it was sickening. I would not say it was a complete travesty of justice, since she did commit the murders, but she did get shafted in many ways. It was apparent in the first doc, and even more so in this one, that Aileen had mental issues. How she passed a psych eval is amazing. Even her last words are obvious to some mental issue. My feelings about the death penalty aside, it did seem apparent that her death sentence being carried out was solely for the publicity for elections and the law enforcement community that was left bruised after it was proven numerous police officer was fishing to make money off the case for a movie. I have always been fascinated by Aileen Wuornos since as long as I can remember. Long before "Monster" came out. Her life was terrible. Horrendous. There are so many things that came out over the years from her mother abandoning her, father in prison, grandfather and brother having sex with her, to her being 13 and having a baby (some say by the grandfather, others a neighborhood pedophile), having to give up the baby and then kicked out of her home to sleep in the woods...in Michigan...in the winter. She was turning tricks for survival...at 13. She was failed by so many. Her parents, family, authorities, etc, at such a young age. There is no wonder why she had anger issues. She slipped through the cracks at every point in her life. The ultimate was then how she slipped through the cracks again and was executed. We will never know the truth of what really happened between her and her victims, but to me, she never seemed as honest, coherent, and detailed as she was when she was describing her attacks that led to the murders in the first trial. She later recanted and said it was not self-defense, but at that point, it was blatantly obvious she just wanted to die. I feel bad for her victims and their families, I do, but I also feel bad that society and the lack of intervention, guidance, and help of any kind, led to these acts happening. Nick Broomfield showed the flaws in the people, asked questions that many had, and showed Aileen at her most vulnerable and most enraged. This is a doc worth watching, but if you haven't, watch the original first. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Death penalty is wrong *by M***Y on Reviewed in the United States on September 13, 2021* I couldn't help but bawl my eyes out at the end hearing that song and knowing they executed someone who was probably bipolar and had severe mental issues. Jeb Bush I can't even look at. I realize what she did was wrong but so many things come into play here with how she was abandoned by her mother and then discarded by her father instead of her getting the help she needed. The whole thing is just sad and if God does forgive, I think he will take in to account that this woman was so psychologically messed up and events led up to these murders that could've been different. I feel for the families but also, if the husband's hadn't been sinning themselves and paying for sex, this all could've been avoided. She obviously loathes herself and took out her sins on these men that was aimed at herself. I'm still pretty emotional so I know I'm not saying all I want to but I just needed to say how wrong the whole thing felt. It's just a complete waste of life and a tragedy that could've played out a lot different under different circumstances. That song at the end is telling us through her how she feels that she literally walked the streets and is the way she is and accepts her punishment. It just should've been different for her and it does make me sick that her story is sold and people make money off her death. I felt guilty just watching this documentary alone. Only wish her fate and her LIFE could've been different with help from people that were supposed to look out for her and love her.
