I have exactly 14 and three-quarter inches wide space to put box and is box Matt black** A: It is not matte black. It is shiny black. When the lid opens you need a 2 inch clearance behind the box for the lid to hinge into. **Q: Is this toolbox only supposed to have a 45 degree opening angle?** A: Does the toolbox only have a 45 degree opening angle? Yes, it is about that. There is a gas shock that opens and holds the lid open. That limits the opening angle. **Q: Can this be attatched to a hitch cargo carrier? If so, how?** A: You would need to drill matching holes in both the box and the cargo carrier, and use bolts/washers/nuts. I looked forever for a tool box online and this is the one!I am very pleased with this product, quality is great, comes with lock and keys. Fits perfectly between the wheel wells. with about 1/4" extra on either side making it very snug. I was able to use existing holes in the body from the factory seats to bolt in place which was nice and made things easier.I'm not sure if it will fit with the back seats in place (*probably on an unlimited (Lj)???)Easily the best box for the money ( I did A LOT of shopping), less than $130 shipped for a high quality product, I highly recommend it!I don't know if Outlaw reads these reviews, but if they did: They could sell a ton of these things marketing them for wranglers. All of my fellow jeepers want one now! Just saying ;)The ONLY con I have with this is it did not come exactly as pictured: The "outlaw" logo is pictured on the bottom right corner, and the one I received had it on the top left. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bargain box *by M***W on August 23, 2016* The item had some damages, but would work well if in perfect shape. Received from Boss Motorsports through Amazon. It does fit into a Jeep. Locking mechanism and pistons are good quality, the thickness of the aluminum allows for a 170 pound guy to sit on the box, but this isn't a high security box. You could pry it open if you tried hard enough. For the price, it's worth it though and if you don't have a rear seat in your jeep CJ5 this fits well. ### ⭐ Update: Falling apart *by A***L on May 27, 2018* This is an excellent quality product for its intended purpose on the back of an ATV. I am using it as a storage box on the front of a trailer. It is no where near the thickness of a DeeZee box but it is also no where near the price. So if you are looking for a light duty storage container this is a great value. Nice and light also.1 YEAR UPDATE:I have reduced the rating to one star because after a year of being on the tongue of my utility trailer it is falling apart. It is only used to hold tie down straps and wheel chocks but the welds are failing and the top section that holds the support piston has completely separated from the lid.
