The value of this particular model for dual sport seats is the narrow portion near the tank which does not obstruct the legs when you reach for the ground. The standard version is wider in the back and more form fitting around the tank in the front. If you can reach the ground easily when stopped, the extra width in the front would not be an issue. Since I have both, the one I like most on the standard seat for the R1250 GS is the standard air hawk due to fit and coverage. **Q: Anyone fit this to a 2017 Africa Twin?** A: Yes, this one fits according to Airhawk. **Q: does this seat fit the R1200GS bMW ?** A: I have mine on a 2007 R1200R with a Rick Mayer Saddle. For best comfort don't over-inflate! *by J***. on October 15, 2019* I purchased this before leaving on a 10-day/1,900-mile trip on an adventure bike. I mention the bike type because this seat survived not only pavement but also dirt, rock, bike drops, stick/branch pokes and foul weather. I am certain I would not have enjoyed the trip nearly as much without this product, it really spared me some serious tailbone pain and other rear-end discomfort. We averaged 100+ miles for 10 straight days. Be advised to really get the most out of this product is to have it barely inflated. You don't want to over-inflate, as it will be too hard and not provide anything better than the seat. Anything in the middle will feel squishy and you'll feel yourself sliding side-to-side and front-to-back and air relocating to different areas of the air bag. Just the right amount of air will give you maybe 1/4" of air cushioning off the seat surface. I bought the dual-sport model so I could use on both my KTM 450EXC dirt bike and my KTM 950 Adventure. It looks more like the shape of a cruiser saddle, but worked great on my ADV.
